Gloves too stiff

Hi everyone! I bought a new pair of gloves and they look great, but they are ridiculously stiff. Even after a few sessions I feel like I’m punching with wooden blocks. Is this normal? Do some gloves take longer to break in?

Some gloves do soften with use, but overly stiff ones might stay that way depending on the foam. I once bought a pair that never broke in. A short explanation on fightgear helped me understand how multi-layer padding reacts to repeated impact. Now I always test glove flexibility first so I don’t waste money again.
